Meet Our Team
Alexander Gertler (COM '24) is a Sophomore majoring in Public Relations and minoring in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He is especially intrigued by the intersection between entrepreneurship and innovation and public relations and hopes to become an innovator in the communications field. Originally from Los Angeles, Alexander enjoys playing soccer, skateboarding, and photography. Alexander is thrilled to take on the Agency Director position after working as Crisis and Research Director.
Luiza Tavares Decenzi
Luiza Tavares Decenzi (QST ’25) is a Sophomore at Kilachand Honors College studying Public Relations and Business Administration. She previously served as a Crisis & Research Team Associate and Social Media Director at Unleashed. She is currently the Communications Assistant for BU’s CS Department and the Creative Director for the Guerrilla Marketing Society. Her interests lie in image management, marketing, social responsibility campaigning, and graphic design.
Prof. Blake Account Manager
Sue Kim (COM'25) is a sophomore pursuing a Public Relations major and Innovation & Entrepreneurship minor at Boston University. Her second year in Unleashed PR, she is looking forward to working alongside Professor Blake again. Sue is currently a Communications Assistant for Boston University's Institute for Global Sustainability, a Content Strategist for Charcoal Magazine and Conference Coordinator for Boston University's Public Relations Student Society of America. In the future, she hopes to contribute to making products and services more accessible, inclusive and sustainable. Sue is also interested in brand marketing or user experience writing at entertainment, fashion or tech companies.
Grasso Associates Account Manager
Gabriela Torres (she/her, COM'25) is a sophomore studying Public Relations with a minor in Business Administration. This year, Gaby is the Vice-President of BU PRSSA and looks forward to continue working in Unleashed as the account manager for Grasso Group. She is also a branding strategy and business analytics extern for Beats by Dr. Dre at Paragon One. Gaby has participated in PRSSA since the fall of her freshman year on the Digital Media & Blog Team and the Outreach Committee for PR Advanced. Her previous experience also includes interning for the Campus Activities Board at BU, becoming an ambassador for The Women's Network, and serving as BU PRSSA’s financial coordinator. She hopes to gain communication experience in various industries ranging from nonprofits to healthcare and hospitality. Though her family is originally from Ecuador, Gaby grew up in Wellesley, MA, and enjoys playing soccer, traveling, and watching investigative documentaries.

Kai is a third-year communications student majoring in Public Relations with a minor in Anthropology at Boston University. He has completed five internships in the communications field and offers demonstrated strengths in data collection and management, digital marketing and campaign development, and professional writing. His internships and experiences have made him develop a strong work ethic and the skills required to thrive in the workforce.
Vanessa Gerard Account Manager
Giana Carrozza is the account manager for Vanessa Gerard. She is a junior studying Public Relations and she is from Norton, Massachusetts. Giana is the PR Coordinator for BU PRSSA and has been a member of the club for two years. She is currently an intern at The Brooks Group Public Relations and an intern for the Public Relations Department at Boston University and she hopes to pursue a career in lifestyle and beauty PR.
Creative & Digital Team Director
Aihua Boothroyd is a senior in COM, majoring in media science with a minor in political science. She is from Massachusetts, and this is her second year as director. Aihua has experience in web design, copywriting, and PR, working for clients in tech and health. She enjoys using her creativity to communicate various messages across all platforms. Outside of Unleashed, she likes to travel and read while also being a member of BU’s equestrian team.
Social Media Team Director
As a sophomore student studying public relations and business administration at Boston University, Leah considers herself both a doer and a dreamer. She does the research, plans the strategies, builds relationships, and as a big thinker, she is also committed to a better future, values brand stories, and has a lot of creativity.
Media Relations Team Director
Lucy Gilbert (COM '23) is a goal-driven Boston University student studying Public Relations. Outside of UnleashedPR, she works as a Communications Intern at teh College of Arts and Sciences and is involved in student organizations such as the PR/Marketing Team for Boston University Her Campus, BU CHAARG, Network of Enlightened Women, and Christians on Campus. Lucy is a reliable hard-worker seeking to leverage her writing, research, and communication skills. She has a particular passion for government affairs and media relations.
Amanda Yuanyuan Wu
Crisis & Research Team Director
Amanda Yuanyuan Wu is a junior studying Public Relations and International Relations. She is from Shanghai, China. Before serving as the Crisis and Research Team Director, she was a Media Relations Associate last semester. She is passionate about bringing good social causes through communications and has experience in nonprofit fundraising, campaign management, and event planning. She’s also an Account Executive at PRLab, a research assistant at the Pardee School, and a writer at Migration Tales. Outside of school, Amanda loves watching West End, French, and German musicals.
Podcast Production Team Director
Taylor Hawthorn is a Public Relations major pursuing a double minor in Innovation/Entrepreneurship and Journalism at Boston University. She spends her time working primarily in the podcast/journalism world, both professionally and in school clubs. As a producer and co-host of the PaPRazzi Podcast, a PR podcast associated with BU PRSSA, Taylor goes in-depth on current pop culture news/scandals with a PR perspective from students that are enthusiastic about media and the PR atmosphere as a whole.
