The Scoop N Scootery is a Boston-based dessert franchise known for its over-the-top ice cream sundaes, frozen yogurt creations, and late-night delivery service, often operating until 2:00 AM. Founded in 2012 by Tufts student Austin Crittenden, the brand began as a small delivery-based ice cream concept and has since expanded into multiple brick-and-mortar locations across Massachusetts, with continued franchise growth across the United States.

CHALLENGE

This semester, the primary challenge was supporting The Scoop N Scootery during a period of rapid franchise expansion while helping strengthen and organize its public relations and social media infrastructure across multiple new and existing locations.

As the brand prepared for and launched new stores in markets such as Jacksonville, Dallas–Fort Worth, and Red Bank, there was an increased need for structured influencer outreach, localized media relations, and consistent cross-market brand messaging.

Another key challenge was managing brand consistency across multiple independently operated social media accounts while still allowing each location to reflect its own regional audience, community, and culture.

STRATEGY

Our strategy focused on two primary objectives: increasing brand awareness in new expansion markets and building scalable systems for influencer and media outreach across multiple franchise locations.

A key part of this strategy was supporting consistency across The Scoop N Scootery’s growing network of social media accounts, including the current Allston, Cambridge and Charlotte accounts, but also the newly opened accounts for the Fort Worth, Red Bank and Jacksonville locations.

By understanding the structure of these accounts, we aimed to tailor influencer outreach and content strategy to both established locations and emerging franchise markets while maintaining a cohesive brand identity across all pages.

RESULTS

  • Compiled an influencer list of 50+ influencers in the Jacksonville area to support influencer outreach and brand awareness efforts.

  • Compiled an influencer list of 60+ influencers in the New Jersey area, expanding outreach opportunities for the Red Bank location.

  • Compiled a media list of 10+ local media contacts for the Dallas location to support upcoming expansion and press outreach efforts.

  • Compiled a media list of 8 local media contacts for the Jersey location to assist with media engagement around store openings.

  • Sent 61 personalized emails to influencers across Red Bank and Jacksonville and actively tracked and managed responses.

  • Sent 62 direct messages to influencers across Red Bank and Jacksonville through The Scoop N Scootery official accounts and maintained ongoing communication and follow-ups.
