PINK SUNDAY SPRING 2026 CASE STUDY
Pink Sunday is a non profit women’s only flag football league established in 2013 and based in Cambridge, MA. The organization is dedicated to promoting the importance of health and wellness through its physical fitness and sports programs offerings for the surrounding Boston community. They offer a flag football league open to women 18+ and a youth girls flag football league for middle- and high-school aged girls. The Pink Sunday League supports Breast Cancer survivors, women currently undergoing treatment, and women who can’t afford to get mammograms by fundraising and donating to The National Breast Cancer Foundation as well as to cover the cost of mammograms for uninsured and underinsured women.
CHALLENGE
The key challenge we worked on this semester was to grow awareness of the Youth Girls Flag Football League to encourage sign-ups for the spring & upcoming summer leagues.
STRATEGY
As such, Pink Sunday has partnered with Unleashed PR to expand Pink Sunday’s reach through social media content, earned media, school outreach, and ambassador/partnership development. Initially, the team began by agreeing on the scope of work with the client, through a proposed PR Plan.
This included:
Grow awareness of Youth Girls Flag Football League
Recruit 40-60 girls for the summer season
Secure 1 earned media placement
Secure 1-2 brand ambassadors
Maintain consistent social media presence on Instagram and LinkedIn
Our strategy focused on social and earned media as well as school, community, and partnerships outreach. This included an initial client meeting to discuss expectations and goals and what their desired scope of work was. The team also worked on researching the client and creating initial audits of existing media, websites, and resources to decide on a plan of action.
RESULTS
Conducted thorough audits for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Unrefined Foods' website
Conducted extensive research into and pitched to a roster of schools, partnerships, and outlets to gain brand exposure
Drafted essential evergreen content, including LinkedIn posts and over 20 graphics for Instagram
